The Beadholder’s Eye

THE PROCESS

Each piece begins with a handcrafted eye. The iris is sculpted and colored by hand, finished with a pupil, and sealed beneath a clear resin dome. Some eyes become pendants on their own, while others are surrounded by layers of bead embroidery and weaving to form the pieces known as Eldritch Flowers.

The Iris

Each iris is sculpted individually by hand, creating the texture and depth at the center of the eye.

Color and Detail

Layers of pigment are added by hand to build the color, pattern, and subtle variations of each iris.

COMPLETING THE EYE

Once the pupil is added, the iris is sealed beneath a clear resin dome, protecting the details and giving the finished eye its depth and lifelike appearance.

The Beadwork

For an Eldritch Flower, the completed eye is surrounded by layers of bead embroidery and weaving using Japanese and Czech glass beads.
